Preparing Your Mind and Body to Take on The Day: Ergonomics Review

In April of 2021, I hurt my neck due to chronic poor posture and a difficult procedure. Let’s face it - we all have some sort of neck/back ailment working in this profession. Now healed, this incident has caused me to review and be very conscious of my posture and body so that I can continue to practice dentistry for a long time. A Certified Yoga Instructor, I will share some simple stretches that make a big difference. Discussion of setting your intentions each day and how your energy affects those around you and what you can accomplish. This course will also review some accupressure/relaxation points on the hands, wrists, head and neck (which can be done right in the chair) that help ease anxiety and calm nervous patients.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Review of proper posture and positioning for dentists and dental professionals.

  • Learn my 3 minute “Get Ready for the Day” stretching routine the whole team can easily do.

  • Learn which acupressure and relaxation points to use to help ease children and anxious patients.
