This lecture will provide a basic understanding of TMJ problems and the what to look for before beginning, during, and following Invisalign treatment.

Louis M. Giordano, D.D.S. attended St. Bonaventure University where he received his undergraduate degree, and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Buffalo in 1991. Upon graduation, he completed a one-year General Practice residency at Buffalo General Hospital and entered into private practice in 1992. Since 1992, he has been in private practice treating general and cosmetic dentistry, as well as, orthodontics, TMD and sleep apnea. He has been treating TMJ disorders for over 25 years. Currently orthodontics and craniofacial pain disorders are 50% of his practice. Dr. Giordano has received intensive education and training in the area of TMJ dysfunction from The Center for Advanced Dental Study, in Florida, and from The Institute for Advanced TMJ Studies, in California. In addition, he has completed a TMD/orthodontic case finishing mini residency through the AACP Institute, he has earned his Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry from the University of Buffalo. Dr. Giordano is a member of: The American Dental Association, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, International Association for Orthodontics, New York State Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Sixth District Dental Society - 2021 Vice President and delegate to NYS Dental Society, and Broome County Dental Society - past president
