Dr. Kari Blankenship
Dr. Blankenship attended Hunter College in New York City where she earned degrees in both biology and philosophy. Being a native Texan, she returned to her home state to attend The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After receiving her Doctorate, she continued her education by completing a General Practice Residency at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Hospital. During her residency, she received advanced training in oral surgery, sedation dentistry, and prosthodontics. Additionally, she rotated through MD Anderson Cancer Center and gained experience in meeting the needs of severely medically compromised patients.
After associating in an implant and denture center for several years, Dr. Blankenship opened her practice in Plano, Texas in 2019. After working with dentures for so many years, her driving philosophy in her own practice is for her patients to retain their own teeth for life. Invisalign has become an integral part in her practice as it allows her to improve her patients’ functionality and develop beautiful smiles. She truly believes that a healthy smile can be life-changing.
Dr. Blankenship pursues continuing education on a regular basis, focusing on Invisalign, implant dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry. She is a member of a local Invisalign Study Club. She has also studied with Nobel Biocare and the prestigious Pikos Institute. Her commitment to expanding her knowledge base translates into a higher standard of care for each of her patients.
When she is not enhancing smiles, Dr. Blankenship makes quality time with her husband and family a priority. That family includes a Corgi named Ellie and a Chihuahua named Biscuits, both of whom she loves very much. She also enjoys being a culinary explorer and never passes up the opportunity to try new restaurants, cuisines, and recipes. She is an avid reader and loves anything true crime related.
