Dr. Perry Jones is on the faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Dentistry where he serves as both the Director of Continuing Education and Faculty Development and as Associate Professor, Adjunct Faculty, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Additionally his ties to VCU keep him busy as the Director of the Virginia VCU/AGD Master Track program. Dr. Jones belongs to numerous dental organizations and maintains a private practice in Richmond, VA.
Dr. Jones is a proponent of minimally invasive techniques, so the introduction of aligner therapy into the marketplace was a natural fit for him. For more than a decade, he has been teaching dentists how they can use aligners to move teeth to correct alignment issues as opposed to handling them with restorative procedures alone. He has lectured throughout the country and through webinars. He has several of his Invisalign® cases featured in educational resources. One of his favorites was blogging about his appointment-by-appointment experiences with three of his patients as he was the featured dentist in Align Technology's "Clear Chronicles" blog.
He is also a prominent subject matter expert for organizations advancing the technology for digital scanning in dentistry. Dr. Jones has been involved with Cadent/ iTero optical scanning technology since its first release and a beta tester for numerous releases.
Dr. Jones rarely has an idle moment. He is very active in his community. He has held various board or executive positions in both neighborhood and church affiliations. He, his wife, their two sons and their families enjoy spending their downtime together on the Chesapeake Bay as avid sailing/boating enthusiast.
