Kayla Demlow
When it came to working in the field of dentistry, it was not Kayla Demlow’s first choice. She graduated from Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan, with a BA in history and religion, with the goal of going into law or getting a PhD in religion. Her passion for helping others was also on display as the Community Service Chair of her sorority, Chi Omega. She started her management journey as a trainer at Applebee’s and then later at a local Family Video (does renting DVDs even exist anymore?!). She moved on to a professional volunteer role with AmeriCorps to help build up resumes and cover letters, and train individuals to help them be their best in the workforce. Owing to the economic difficulties she was facing in her hometown, she ventured to Texas with her now husband and daughter to see what life had to offer! When Kayla arrived in Texas, she started working for her sister-in-law’s dental practice, and never left the field of dentistry. Kayla started as an errand runner and quickly moved her way up the ladder from pulling and auditing charts to verifying insurance and becoming a hygiene coordinator and has been in dentistry for 10 years this year. When she became the office manager for Dr. Christopher Anton and Dr. Angela Anton, she really dove into dentistry with their support and guidance. It was at Creekside Park Family & Cosmetic Dentistry that she was able to fully give her all into leadership and training, helping take her practice from Gold Invisalign status to Platinum Plus in under a year. The practice she manages currently maintains Platinum Plus status, treating over 150 Invisalign patients per year. Her passion for verbiage, presentation, and the patient experience is one for the books and one that she continues to share with the AACA! Outside of dentistry, Kayla has been married to her loving husband, Rory, for 10 years. They have a beautiful 14-year-old daughter, Aubrey, and 4 pups at home. It is because of her family and support that she is able to give so much of herself to others and has committed herself to training those in hopes of giving patients the best experience. She is a volunteer coach for the AAYFDT drill team, Klein Derrick Dolls, and has been a head coach for 5 seasons. Dentistry is a service industry, and she’s excited to help others grow their practices with love! “It is good to love many things, for therein lies strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done with love is well done. ” —Vincent Van Gogh
